- anti-social: when someone acts in a way that is unfriendly or unpleasant towards others.
- carbohydrate: the scientific name for the energy we get from food. All plants have carbohydrates in them – especially fruit and vegetables. Carbohydrates are a vital part of our diet.
- citizenship: when you belong to a community and understand your rights and responsibilities as a member of that community.
- community: the people living in a local area.
- council: the people chosen or elected to run the services in a town or county. Your local council is in charge of libraries, buses, rubbish collection, recycling, sports centres and other services.
- constituency: an area represented by a Member of Parliament (or MP). Each MP is elected by the people who live in his or her constituency.
